Schiff calls for Sam Nunberg to testify in House Russia investigation

Hand it over The subpoena by Special Counsel Mueller's probe into the Trump campaign and alleged collusion with Russia covers communication with the President and others Former Trump aide Sam Nunberg says he will not comply with special counsel Mueller's subpoena

A former aide to President Donald Trump who is responsible for a series of freakish media antics now says he'll cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into Russian interference in the 2016 presidential election.

"Mr. Mueller should understand I am not going in [to the grand jury] on Friday", he said. Nunberg asked while speaking via telephone with CNN's Jake Tapper. In an interview with CNN's Erin Burnett, the host told Nunberg she smelled alcohol on his breath, but the former Trump aide denied he had been drinking.

"I'm not going to cooperate", Nunberg told MSNBC.

Shortly after he lobbed that allegation, White House press secretary Sarah Sanders rebuffed him during the White House press briefing.

"No. Besides my meds".

By 6 p.m., The Daily Beast reported that several of Nunberg's friends expressed their fear that he may have been drunk during his interviews, indicating that he had called them earlier that morning and had conversations that left them thinking he was "drinking again".

"I'm happy if the scope changes", he said. "He hasn't worked at the White House, so I certainly can't speak to him or the lack of knowledge that he clearly has", she said.

Both Wisenberg and Sharman said that if Nunberg continues to defy the subpoena, or does not reach an agreement with the Special Counsel's office he will be held in contempt of court and jailed, either until he agrees to testify or the grand jury expires - a prospect to which Nunberg seems amenably, at least publicly.

Asked moments later if Nunberg had taken "anything else", he said he had not consumed anything besides his antidepressant medication.

"I got very aggravated", Nunberg said, explaining why he felt compelled to go on a TV blitz on CNN, MSNBC and a local NY station to share his frustrations.

The Kirk Cousins sweepstakes is already sizzling, even though technically teams can not talk about a contract at this time. Cousins has averaged 67% completion, 4,392 yards, 27 TDs, and 12 INTs the past three years.

"They want me to say that Roger was going around telling people he was colluding with Julian Assange". "Im not cooperating. Arrest me".

Nunberg first worked for one of Trump's businesses before helping advise his presidential campaign.

As for his subpoena, Nunberg expressed amusement at the notion that he can be arrested for refusing to comply with the subpoena. "[Russian President Vladimir] Putin is too smart to collude with Donald Trump".

Schiff said Nunberg's assertion that President Donald Trump may have known about the 2016 Trump Tower meeting before it occurred is an area that the committee needs to explore.

It's a fool who suggests s (he) has seen the depths of the political catastrophe that is the United States right now, but former Trump campaign aide Sam Nunberg's round of appearances on TV last night is going to be hard to beat.

Nunberg was scheduled to be interviewed on 22 February by Mueller.

"Well I have not had a drink", Nunberg replied.

"I'm not gonna get sent to prison", he declared to Burnett. "Donald Trump won this election on his own".

"When a person uses the attorney-client relationship to further a criminal scheme, the law is well established that a claim of attorney-client. privilege must yield to the grand jury's investigatory needs", Chief Judge Beryl Howell wrote on October 2, 2017.

Nunberg told Borger that he is not refusing to comply in order to protect Trump.
