The RCMP continue their investigation into a deadly crash that they now say claimed the lives of fifteen people.

"Mark was exceptional young man, an assistant captain during his time at York and the team MVP in his fifth and final season in 2015-16", Russ Herrington, the head coach of the York Lions' men's hockey team, said in a written statement. "We will be working with our partner agencies to ensure families are notified as soon as possible and the appropriate supports are provided to families and others who are impacted by this extremely tragic incident".

Broncos Team President, Kevin Garinger also made the following statement: "Our thoughts and prayers are extended to the families of our staff and athletes as well as to all who have been impacted by this disgusting tragedy".

"God bless Darcy Haugan for being an incredible mentor and coach to young hockey players and prayers for his family to help cope with their huge loss", the Western Provinces Hockey Association wrote on Twitter. While most of the players were from elsewhere in western Canada, they were put up by families in the small town of Humboldt.

It happened more than 200 km northeast of Saskatoon. "We are a small community by most standards, but the hockey team has always been a big part of our community", said Muench.

The organization's president, Kevin Porter, said he heard the news from Hunter's mother.

"Stay Hockey family strong", wrote one donor on the GoFundMe site who said he was a coach from rural Saskatchewan.

Many people have reached out with condolences to the Humboldt community, including Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

In a tweet, U.S. President Donald Trump said he called Trudeau to offer his condolences to the families of victims.

Kellington says the money will go directly to the Broncos for travel expenses and funeral costs, adding the team can decide where the funds are most needed.
