Cynthia Nixon is running for governor of NY, if you haven't heard.

With this endorsement from Eric B. and Rakim, it seems that Nixon is trying to promote herself to hip-hop fans in NY, of which there are a great many.

"On this issue there are many opinions, there are many cultural opinions, there's a lot of division in the legislature, and what we said is, let's get the facts and let's make the decision on the facts", Cuomo said at an unrelated event in Brentwood. "I know that Eric B.is president, but I'm here 'cause I want to be governor of NY state", she told the crowd to much applause.

Check out what Nixon had to say above.

Actress and gubernatorial candidate Cynthia Nixon on Wednesday released a video calling, once again, for the legalization of marijuana and complaining that NY is falling behind other states on the issue.

Saudi Arabia, France sign deals worth $18bn
Also atop the agenda were the wars in Yemen and Syria; Saudi Arabia's regional rival, Iran; and the fight against terrorism and terrorist financing.

Nixon went on to say that 80% of people arrested for consuming marijuana in NY state are black and Latino, although white New Yorkers use marijuana at roughly the same rates. On The Wendy Williams Show, Nixon said: "There's such an appetite for real progressive change in NY state, I'm absolutely for the legalization of marijuana". Lawmakers supporting legalization say the potential tax revenue stream is considerable since it's estimated that New Yorkers spend $3 billion a year on marijuana.

"Why haven't we legalized marijuana?".

"If there was more political courage coming out of Albany, we would have done this already", Nixon said, presumably taking aim at Governor Cuomo's stance on the issue. Colorado, Oregon, California, Washington, Alaska, Nevada, Maine, Massachusetts, Vermont and Washington, D.C. have all legalized recreational marijuana. Federal legalization could also inject up to $130 billion into United States tax coffers by 2025.

"I believe it is time for NY to follow the lead of eight other states and DC, and legalise recreational marijuana", Nixon added.

For his part, de Blasio said he was a bit hesitant. He has long-opposed recreational legalization, and as recently as February 2017 referred to it as a "gateway drug", according to Politco.com.
