China's economy grew a forecast-beating 6.8 per cent in the first quarter, official data showed Tuesday, overcoming Beijing's battle on financial risk and pollution and trade tensions with the US.

The Trump administration has recently threatened up to $150 billion worth of import duties on Chinese products ranging from steel to robotics, while China has responded with its own list of US products that would be subject to higher tariffs - including soybeans, aircraft and automobiles.

Data from the MOC showed U.S. sorghum exports to China surged from 3.17 lakhs tonnes in 2013 to 4.76 million tonnes in 2017, while export prices have slumped 31 per cent during the period, which led to a fall in domestic prices that hurt local industries, the Ministry said.

The Chinese Ministry of Commerce said United States sorghum exports to China rose from 317,000 tonnes in 2013 to 4.76 million tonnes in 2017, while price of the exported sorghum fell in 31 per cent - harming Chinese farmers.

Beijing launched the sorghum investigation on February 4 in what some business people saw as a warning shot as President Donald Trump hiked tariffs on Chinese-made washing machines and solar modules.

Eagles' Worley arrested near team facility, gun found at scene
Now he's already gone. "The source said team officials are discussing the situation, and that Worley very well might be released". Worley likely to be cut? It's entirely possible the Eagles opt to draft a cornerback with the No. 32 pick in the first round.

The sorghum measure was the result of a two-month investigation that concluded USA sorghum was being dumped on the Chinese market. Soybean was regarded as the most important for United States farmers as China is their largest importer.

The measure aims to "correct the unfair trade practices and maintain normal order of trade and competition", Wang said, adding that "China is willing to expand cooperation with the USA side to narrow down differences in the field of trade".

Xi's announcement was among a raft of measures that were seen as potential concessions to US President Donald Trump as they face a potential trade war. "China is willing to expand cooperation with the US side to reduce disagreements in the trade field", Wang said. The ruling for anti-subsidy probe will be released later as the two probes involve different procedures and entities, according to Wang. It was announced hours after Washington banned American firms from selling parts to Chinese telecoms giant ZTE for seven years.

"It has instant impact for firms like Tesla", said Li Yanwei, an analyst with the China Automobile Dealers Association Expert Committee.
