McCain is battling a brain tumor from home in Arizona.

Sadler told colleagues at a private meeting last month that they should ignore McCain's opinion about Trump's Central Intelligence Agency nominee because "he's dying anyway".

Last year, McCain was diagnosed with a type of brain cancer known as glioblastoma. Sadler made the remark almost a month ago, and the White House has refused to apologize or discipline her, even as McCain's family members and GOP lawmakers called on them to do so.

The comment ignited a firestorm of criticism, with many demanding Sadler's firing.

The White House was roiled by bipartisan fury over the remark attributed to Kelly Sadler in May.

"Yes, there are other administration jobs open to her and to others who would like to interview for those jobs", Conway responded when asked whether Sadler would be considered for other positions.

"Kelly Sadler is no longer employed within the Executive Office of the President", Raj Shah, the principal deputy press secretary, wrote in a statement.

Reluctant to take himself back to the moment at first, James described his thoughts and emotions during the huddle on Tuesday. I mean, I'll be active, I'll be in uniform Wednesday . "Excited about the opportunity that presents itself tomorrow".

Meanwhile, Sadler made a phone call to McCain's daughter Meghan to personally apologize.

Meghan McCain told viewers she had yet to receive an apology.

McCain's wife, Cindy, tweeted to Sadler saying, "May I remind you my husband has a family, 7 children and 5 grandchildren". "It happened yesterday", former vice president Joe Biden, who was on the presidential ticket that beat McCain in 2008, said following the comment.

Though Sadler apologized privately for her comment, she never did so publicly, as apparently promised.

The White House has been plotting an exit for Sadler for weeks, sources told CNN.

Sadler was a special assistant to the President, responsible for compiling and distributing talking points to administration allies.

Conway would not say if such comments were disqualifying for working in the administration. "I like people who weren't captured".
