On Thursday, Capitol Police arrested almost 600 people as they demonstrated inside a Senate office building.

Hundreds were taken into custody Thursday, and charged with unlawfully protesting at a Senate building. Logically, these people were also protesting the rule of law as well as strong border security - which is enforced to keep all Americans (including the protesters themselves) safe on an everyday basis. Gillibrand said, adding the protests were an "amazing" act of defiance against the Trump administration. Among them was Washington state congresswoman Pramila Jayapal (main), the lawmaker said on Twitter.

The rally is one of more than 600 marches planned across the country protesting the Trump administration's "zero tolerance" policy that separates children from their parents at the U.S. -Mexico border.

And dozens of protesters shut down a government meeting in MI in protest against a contract with the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (Ice) agency to house detainees at a local jail.

Many of those detained were singing and shouting slogans, and were clad in silver, mylar-style emergency blankets similar to those being provided to children in detention centers.

"I was just arrested with 500+ women and @womensmarch to say @realDonaldTrump's cruel zero-tolerance policy will not continue". President Donald Trump signed an executive order to stop separations, but the reunification process has proved to be complicated. Others marked "We Care" on their palms, reported ABC News. She returned to the border again today for a second visit, jacket-less. "And this action that is pushing the limits has the potential to inspire exactly the kind of mass civil resistance that we need to achieve these goals".
