President Donald Trump's resort, Mar-a-Lago, filed a request to the Department of Labor for 61 additional visas for foreign servers and cooks, according to a Job Order Records filed on Thursday and Friday.
Mar-a-Lago seeks to hire the 40 foreign waiters and waitresses under the H-2B visa program, which allows American employers to hire foreigners on a seasonal basis if there is not a sufficient supply of qualified Americans.
Trump's "Winter White House" has applied to hire 21 cooks from other countries to work at the resort from October to May.
The H-2B visas are for temporary non-agricultural workers and employers requesting these must prove that there are not enough workers in the USA who are "able, willing, qualified, and available to do the temporary work".
The Florida resort requested 61 H-2B visas, which are visas for temporary non-agricultural workers. It's unclear if they were approved.
Mar-a-Lago's application says the club is using a labor contractor, Petrina Group International, it has relied on to recruit foreign workers in the past.
