United States of America captain Jim Furyk will name three of his four wildcard picks on Tuesday, and after DeChambeau's recent successes, it is unthinkable he will not be included among them.

As expected, Furyk named Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson and Bryson DeChambeau to the US team that will play the Europeans Sept. 28-30 at Le Golf National outside of Paris.

Love captained the U.S. team to victory in 2016, and Stricker was the winning U.S. Presidents Cup team captain past year.

You can see who Thomas Bjorn selects with his four captain's picks on Wednesday at 2pm (BST) - we'll be covering the announcement live on The Sportsman. Furyk will make three selections on Tuesday, and a fourth after the BMW Championship. For Mickelson, more than setting a record by playing his 12th Ryder Cup, the 48-year-old gets what he believes will be his last chance to capture that gold trophy away from home. It will be his first Ryder Cup since 2012.

The win guaranteed that DeChambeau will be the top player in the playoff standings when the season concludes at the Tour Championship in three weeks in Atlanta, regardless of how he finishes next week at the BMW Championship in suburban Philadelphia.

There was little drama to Tuesday's announcement after DeChambeau won his second consecutive playoff event on Monday.

"I was disappointed to not make the top eight [for the automatic berth onto the team], but I regrouped, " DeChambeau said. "It's kind of where my PGA Tour career started really here and it was nice to finish it with a strong showing, but it was an up and down round".

The former world No 1 had originally been named as a vice-captain - the same role he held at Hazeltine in 2016 - but will now be replaced in that role, with David Duval, Zach Johnson and Matt Kuchar added to Furyk's backroom team.

'Lo and behold I'm part of this team.

Rose made a late charge of four birdies in the final six holes to close within two of the lead, but it was down to Smith to force the issue with an eagle realistically required up the par-five 18. "I'd love to be on that team". "As far as strategy, as far as planning, as far as pairings. and I'm going to continue to use that knowledge and that strategy". Tony Finau is considered the leading candidate.

Meanwhile, Tyrrell Hatton, Tommy Fleetwood, Jon Rahm, Alex Noren and Thorbjorn Olesenn will be making their maiden Ryder Cup appearances. Ian Poulter, Paul Casey and Henrik Stenson are likely to be the other wild cards.

Unlike the relatively simple task for Furyk, Bjorn has many more hard decisions to make by Wednesday.
